Note: Page rank now appears to be irrelevant because it has not been updated since December 2013. Also, Google's John Mرller says: We probably don't update page rank, at least in the toolbar page rank.
For those who are wondering what PageRank is, this is a quality metric invented by Google. It measures page value on a scale of 0 to 10, with values from 0 to 10 determining the importance, reliability and authority of a page on the web according to Google.
Let's talk about Nofollow vs Dofollow BackLinks: Technically nofollow links prevent link juice (its quality and value) from spreading to other pages. Dofollow Link, on the other hand, tells Google bots (sometimes called spiders) to follow the link and index the page, thus giving the value of the linked page.
What is a Nofollow link?
If a link is set to NFL, this means that Google bot will not crawl the link and will not transfer any link juice. Hollow links look like this:<a href= http://www.example1.com rel="nofollow">Example1</a>
<a href= http://www.example2.com rel="external nofollow">Example2</a>
rel html tag: Did you see the rel html tag in the links above? Both links have the word nofollow in the original tag, which means they are nofollow links. Although nofollow link does not pass any link juice, it helps you drive traffic to your website, so if you are not creating follow links then there is no problem. Google does not follow these links, but other search engines respect them, as I explained in detail at the end of this post.
You can also hollow out an entire post with the help of robots meta tags for which you can just add the following statement in the header section of a page / post.
<Meta name = "robot" content = "noflows" />
By adding the above statement, you can nofollow the whole post / page, all links on the page will be considered noflow even though they do not have nofollow rail tag.
What is Dofollow Link?
Dofollow links pass the link juice and they definitely help you a lot to get good page rank. As it directs search engine spiders to follow this link.<a href = http://www.example3.org rel="extern"> Example 3 </a>
This link is do flow, usually when you leave a comment on another site, you will see a link with the rel external attribute, rel = "external" just to represent that the link is external, this Has nothing to do with backlink type. If you do not find any related attribution in the link then it is also considered as Dofollow link.

How do search engines interpret Dofollow and Nofollow links?
Although all the engines that use NoFollow Value exclude links that use it in terms of their rankings, the details of its correct interpretation vary from search engine to search engine.- Google has said that engines take the word "noflo" literally and do not follow the link at all. However, experiments conducted by SEOs show conflicting results. These studies show that Google follows this link, but does not index the page linked to it, unless it is already in Google's index for other reasons (such as other, non-flow links pointing to this page).
- Yahoo! Follows them, but does not exclude them by their rankings.
- Bing respects "Noflo" for not counting links in their rankings, but it has not been proven whether the link follows the link.
- Ask.com also respects rel attribution.
